I'm pretty sure they announced last fall that there would no longer be any discount codes and there was an offer to renew early before the increase in the membership fee in 2020.  The email you say with the code was from 2019 and code was only good through 12/31/2019. ------------------------------ Ed ...

Hello Everyone,  We're looking for some recommendations for an on-line fundraising app for our state conference this year.  We're going to mix things up a little this year and have some raffle items for one day of the conference, but we're planning up to 20 higher ticket items that we want to hold an ...

Hi Kathryn,  Couldn't your employees volunteer without you even knowing it?  I'm sure you know if they're wanting to provide info about your company.  None of what you described makes me think you're directing or controlling their time or what they're doing at the event.  Since you're a medical practice, ...

Clearly the chapter can get programs certified for SHRM PDC's much easier than HRCI, but you still want to have the same type of documentation on file to support the chapter self-certifying the programs, but you're not pushed so far out to hit the window to pre-certify as with HRCI.  I handled re-certification ...

Our Chapter, Southern Indiana SHRM put in a corporate membership a couple of years ago.  It has helped our overall membership, so we consider it quite successful.  The membership stays with the company and if an individual leaves, the don't maintain membership, the company does.  Each company assigns ...

Hi Jane,  I used Google to find a couple of chapters that had won the awards you needed and I pulled in a copy and I've attached them for you to use.  Hopefully someone from SHRM can answer your legacy question on past awards.   Our Chapter only displays current and prior year awards on our website.  ...

Hi Jane,  We don't incorporate CLA in any of our Board Titles.  That can be incorporated into their job description.  Feel free to check out our website with our officers and directors with this link:   Current Board .  Clearly, we have most areas within the CLA covered, but beyond officers, a chapter ...

Hi Jane,  In our chapter (Southern Indiana SHRM) we use "At Large" members as defined in our by-laws.  We designate their role/duties before we recruit members to fill them as they roll off their two-year term on our board.  They generally fulfill one of the volunteer leader roles SHRM defines beyond ...

I agree with Katherine that it's the right thing to do. I only beg to differ on the ending statement of : " We are entering a new era of capitalism, corporatism, and the pursuit of profits that is likely to ignore worker and human rights. How should/will HR - as a profession - respond to this shift?" ...
