I am new to my organization and prior to my start, a 9 day fortnight schedule was implemented. The policy is unclear about what happens when an employee wishes to take PTO prior to a holiday and then the holiday falls on your fortnight day off. I am curious to know if anyone else is using this schedule and how you handle these scenarios, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas when there are two holiday days in one week and how the employee is compensated or works the rest of the week or chooses to take PTO before or after the holiday.
