Its open enrollment season here at the Credit Union. I thought I would thank all those who play a part in providing us with a good health plan year after year. I’m sure the whole process is similar to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Employees want a reliable plan they can afford and employers don’t want their costs to skyrocket either. By the way, I’m sure your companies are happy this year; you’ve held benefit cost growth to 4.1%, the smallest increase in 15 years. Wellness seems to be a top factor in helping to retain these costs for the long-term. More and more of employers are offering wellness programs and initiatives.
I’ve never been on the researching end of benefits; the closest I’ve gotten is presenting the healthcare benefits to staff, then helping them to understand what is being offered and getting all the forms correctly filled out. This in itself can be a chore, so thank you for putting in as much time and effort as you do to make open enrollment a success. For those currently going through it now, I’m sure there are at least a few employees that do appreciate the time it takes to balance employees’ needs and the companies’ budget.
Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you come back soon!
Happy Thanksgiving!
